The word 'Trackback' may sound too technical. You can understand this only by actually doing this at least once. I recently read a blog post on the very subject. This blog dedicated to bloggers explains what is trackback.
Trackback is basically linking of another blog within a blog just as I am doing it now.
However, trackback has no use if the other blog uses "no follow" system (to avoid spammers). The idea is the other blog's visitors may visit your page if they find it interesting. If trackback is accepted by the other blogger a short trackback link will appear on its comments section.
