If you start and give up in the middle then the whole exercise will be a waste of time. In blogging you give away your basic information for free to others' benefit. When the reader understands the basics, give him the advanced part through your own e-book or an affiliate product. Recommend an affilliate product. Since the reader understands you, he will buy from your affiliate link.
See to it that not every post in your blog has a product sales link. There should be several posts without any sales pitch. No one wants to read a sales message.
